The 2009 Omar N. Bradley Fellows in Mathematics
Here is a list of the 2009 Bradley Fellows, approved by the Head, Department of Mathematical Sciences, United States Military Academy.
Project Proposal Title
1. Optimization-based selection of influencers in a rural Afghan social network
2. A finite element approach to optimize the Rayleigh wave strength of a seismic sonar array to aid in early detection of buried objects
3. Basing of soldiers in counterinsurgency (COIN) to maximize security
4. Army’s geospacial architecture: delivering geospatial-intelligence of complex and urban terrain to the dismounted soldier
5. Modeling and assessing models using modern methods for logistic regression
6. Nonparametric random variate generation and transient queuing analysis
7. Resource allocation of networks: nested event tree optimization, network interdiction, and game theoretic methods
8. Develop a principal-agent model to link desired officer behavior from the Army perspective and the optimal behavior from the soldier’s perspective
9. Determine what modeling mechanisms could be developed to prescribe optimal retention targets by skill, grade, and ETS cohort
10. The Army force generation scheduling problem
Please contact Mike Huber if you have any questions. Allocations of funds will be determined by the Head, Department of Mathematical Sciences, United States Military Academy.
